I’m so excited to be officially launching my illustration blog! The past few months I have mostly been micro-blogging through my Instagram, which is super fun, and totally convenient, but it is also a little limited. I’m looking forward to being able to share the stories behind my photos and creations a little more in depth over here.
Getting this part of the project together was super fun, not only am I launching this blog, but I redesigned my site to give it more of a personal feel. I wanted to incorporate the things I love about being an illustrator, and the things that make me go ‘Wow!’ (as my boyfriend would say). So I decided to have a little photo shoot around the my studio today, and the results were more than I could have hoped for. The biggest factor in the success of these photos is just the spectacular light I get in the mornings, I could probably photograph my garbage can in that light and it would look great (but I won’t).
My favorite part of these photos was that I didn’t even have to put the cat in place- she just plopped herself down right in the middle of the frame. I love that little ball of fur. It helps that there are really only so many places she can go in 400 square feet.
Redesigning the site was a huge step forward for me, I feel like it finally reflects my work and my personality.
