SCBWI Oregon Spring Conference

In a couple of weeks I will be attending the Spring Conference for the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators- I’m really looking forward to meeting other authors and illustrators in the area, and seeing more in depth what’s what in Oregon. During art school it was so easy to keep plugged in to whatever art scene you were into, but I’ve found over the past decade as we’ve all moved around and gotten more distant, without that tight cluster of illustrator friends, it’s a little more difficult to see whats happening so easily. So I’ve signed up to attend this conference, and I’m super excited about it!

I’m especially excited to see that I’ll have the opportunity to learn a ton of new tips and tricks, and best practices… I’ve always loved learning and studying, so the chance to spend a whole day focused on the nuts and bolts of my craft along with other people who are just as enthusiastic is pretty thrilling.

Is anyone else in the area going? Will it be your first time, or are you a veteran? I’d love to hear from you, and maybe make some connections before the conference!
